Name: Sebastian Reiner
Age: 37
Occupation/House: Former Durmstrang--Auror
Wand: Dragon heart string - beech - 11"
Patronus: Lynx
Boggart: Coffin
Physical Description: Sebastian stands at just over six feet tall. He is neither tall nor short, and this helps him blend in easily. Tall men and short men alike are remembered, but men of average height and appearance are forgotten or looked over, which is perfect for his line of work. His hair is cropped short and is a dirty-blond color; occasionally he has some scruff on his face, but normally he is clean-shaven. His eyes are a light blue-gray, and he has a fit build. He bears some scars from his line of work as an Auror, mostly on his hands and arms but some on his torso from more serious wounds, and a faint scar across his left cheek from a battle with Dark wizards.
Personality: Often considered serious and humorless from his facial expressions and demeanor, Sebastian can be a tough nut to crack. He tends to keep to himself unless he is working on a team, and even then he is easily the quietest in the group. Some would say this is due to him being dull or lacking any sort of humor--the jokes about the Germans being humorless are endless in the office--but anyone who knows him would say that this is not true. Sebastian just takes his job very seriously, and his face has always looked serious due to the utter concentration and focus he puts his mind to while on the job. Outside of the office, he is still fairly quiet and in his head--fiercely intelligent and married to his work, it is not much of a surprise. However, he does have a good sense of humor and tends to be a bit more open and lighter around people he knows and trusts.
History:
Born as the oldest son to Hilde and Kasper Reiner in Hamburg, Germany, it would be easy to say that Sebastian came from a wealthy family. His father, whom he got his middle name from, was a very successful businessman(who specialized in cauldrons) in the Wizarding community and his mother came from a very wealthy Wizarding family who prided themselves on being pure-blood, so Sebastian never wanted for anything as a child. He was enrolled in the best school, wore the best clothes, was given horseback lessons and was brought up to be a high-society boy who was to take pride in his bloodlines.
His name had been down for Durmstrang since he was born, so it was no surprise when he received his acceptance letter to the school. When he arrived for his first year there, it quickly became apparent that Sebastian was very intelligent and driven, though quiet and tended not to make a lot of friends. He was much more content to read and practice his spells on his own or with a small group of friends than making jokes or prove himself in Quidditch.
His time in Durmstrang was not exactly joyous, but he would never deny he had enjoyed being there. His younger brother, Franz, joined him when Sebastian was in his third year, and the two could not have been more different: Sebastian was diligent, studious, and a serious student while Franz was much more the class clown, a talented Quidditch player, and in and out of trouble throughout his entire education. While Franz was deemed the more enjoyable to hang out with, Sebastian had set himself apart as someone who would go far into whatever field he desired.
He graduated Durmstrang with top marks, and immediately enrolled in the Auror training program. While Durmstrang had a reputation for focusing on Dark Arts, Sebastian had never seen it as necessary to take that as an excuse to abuse them, and instead wanted to employ his knowledge in stopping those who used the spells for Dark magic. After three years of training, he proved that he was a capable and promising talent and was hired as an Auror for the German Ministry of Magic.
His brother, who had gone into business like their father, had moved to England to extend their branch of cauldrons, encouraged Sebastian to come to England as well. Sebastian would have refused, but his brother’s daughter (and his favorite niece) lived there, and it was really to be involved in her life that he agreed. He moved to England after getting a job in the Auror office in London. It was after this move that he began working with a witch in the Misuse of Magic department, and while they worked very well together, it took a while before the working relationship developed into something more. He is currently living with her in their home in London and could not be happier.
