Physical Description: At a curvaceous 5'3", Violet was an early bloomer who has suffered the unwanted attentions of men for many years. She is quarter Veela, so these attractive traits - the symmetrically pleasing facial features, the golden hair, the full lips, petite and well-proportioned figure - were all inherited from her mother's side. While attending Hogwarts, Violet would attempt to hide her figure in baggy clothing and robes whenever possible. It wasn't until her thirties that Violet stopped trying to hide herself. She now dresses in smart skirt suits under her robes and prefers jeans and hoodies when outside of work. She would claim to have no tattoos, but she secretly has a tattoo on her left hip of a violet - tiny in size and done in a watercolor style. Only one person, in addition to the tattoo artist, has ever seen it.
Personality: One might expect that Violet has a rather serious disposition based on her expressions when she's concentrating. To those who don't know her, she can sometimes give the impression of being somewhat severe - she doesn't appreciate unwanted advances or when strangers are overly familiar in their address to her. Once you know her, though, Violet is actually a bit of a dork. She loves laughing and is very playful. She takes her position with the Ministry very seriously and strives to do everything with excellence, but she also brings an aspect of fun to her duties. It is important to Violet that those around her put stock in her intelligence over her appearance. Fail to respect her as a person and you will find a ready foe in Ms. Brixton.
History: Greggory Brixton didn't know the half of what he was getting himself into when he became hopelessly enchanted by Bellamy Jean-Jacques. A muggle, Greg chose unwittingly to court Bellamy by using his wealth to lure her to himself. Coming from a long line of attorneys and judges, he boasted of his wealth and his secure position in his father's practice, showering Bellamy in gifts and taking her on fancy trips on whims. He thought that he was seducing the young witch, but just the opposite was true. Bellamy was having a lark with poor Greg and all was good fun until she became pregnant. She simply left Greg with no excuse and refused to speak to him for a full year before a bundle was delivered to the door of his father's practice. She would never be heard from again.
Violet's childhood pleasant enough despite not having a mother. Her paternal grandmother was a big presence in her life, offering the maternal affection wanted by a little girl. Her father, for all his flaws, fell in love with Violet even faster than he had with her mother. She attended the finest muggle preschool and primary school, no one having any knowledge of her magical status until the summer before her first year at Hogwarts. What a shock it was to all of them - her father, grandparents, herself - to learn that she was a witch! She almost didn't attend Hogwarts as a result of her very religious grandparents thinking it all some occult scam. In the end, they were convinced to allow her to attend by her maternal grandmother, who (at the request of a Professor Minerva McGonagall) had deigned to show up without notice and educate them on how her granddaughter was most certainly a witch, as well as a quarter Veela.
Hufflepuff House accepted Violet with open arms, though she very nearly found herself in Ravenclaw. She was determined to learn all the magic she could and bent her head to the task when her classmates were still focusing more on their social lives. As her body developed ahead of schedule, Violet drew more withdrawn and found more and more time with her books. Attention at that young age was overwhelming and intimidating to her - and often came from much older boys rather than her own classmates. She learned to hide her beauty in layers and oversized clothing. It hardly mattered, of course. Boys too often found their ways of harassing young Violet and those she thought she could trust would too often violate her just the same.
In spite of this, Violet did have many good friends, mostly females. With them, she was free to be open and cheerful. She was known among them as being easy to amuse, ready at all times for a game, and kind. Violet is not shy. She is fiercely protective of herself, but never shy. To the contrary, she has an easy confidence that some might even mistake for arrogance at times.
When she graduated from Hogwarts (with top marks, of course), Violet sought a position at the Ministry. She underwent grueling years of training within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and eventually settled comfortably into her current role, where she excels. It was only recently that Violet finally encountered a man who seemed to appreciate her intelligence more than anything else. For the first time in her life, she felt challenged to meet his wit with her own rather than compelled to snark him out of her way and keep walking. She is currently in a very happy, healthy relationship.
